The Couple

Cassidy + Kennedy

We met about 8 years ago longboarding Provo Canyon with a group of mutual friends. Kennedy had a little black Havanese dog named Mcgraw riding behind him in a trailer that he had designed and built so he could longboard down with him and I was very intrigued. We bonded pretty quickly and really enjoyed spending time together from the moment we met. We were friends for 6 months before we started dating exclusively. We really connected on our love for the outdoors and spending time being active outside and we made each other laugh, alot. We enjoyed trying new things and exploring new places together. We spent most of our free time camping and going on spontaneous adventures. One of our favorite places to go is Moab. We both really like the laid back feel there, all the activities Moab has to offer, and the red rocks. We were even engaged in Moab. Kennedy surprised me (which was not easy for him to do). He took me on a helicopter ride where we flew out over Canyonlands and landed in a remote area where 3 red rock canyons meet that are only accessible by air or backpacking trek. We landed on an old air strip with incredible canyon views that was next to an old prospecting camp and he had thought of every detail. He brought music, champagne, an old scroll that he had written me a letter on, he thought of everything, it was truly what engagement dreams are made of. We weren’t in a rush to get married and enjoyed living in the moment with each other. We took our time getting to know each other and our relationship progressed at our own pace which played a big part in the ease of coming together naturally. We dated for 6 years before we got engaged and had a 2 year engagement so we were together for 8 years by the time we were married. During that time we traveled together, lived together, and owned a business together. I think these things contributed to us building the strong foundation that we have. We know each other very well and are truly each other’s best friends.

The Wedding

We both are drawn to a more rustic style and wanted to add a bohemian, fun, stylish twist to the wedding so we had our style in mind while we planned everything and it came together beautifully. I think this is because the style we chose was an accurate representation of ourselves and our own personal styles and it was amazing how naturally things came together for us with the style. We nailed the elements we were going for. The venues we chose were full of plants and beautiful landscapes. We wanted the natural beauty to be the main focal point so we really didn’t have to add many decorations. We wanted to have a fun wedding with activities for our guests, some of the things we had was a Native American tipi with a photo booth inside with photo props, a live band and dancing area, ice cream bar, daybed lounge and more intricate details. We had fun playing with a variety of colors, spectacular flowers, blown glass vases of all shapes and sizes, candles, water lanterns, string lights and colorful accent lighting. It came together beautifully.
