The Inspiration
Untamed: “Not domesticated or otherwise controlled.”
Sophistication: “The quality of being sophisticated.”
There is something serene about being in the mountains, something that brings you back to center. It reminds you of the pureness of nature and helps bring an appreciation for stillness and joy. In a world with chaos we truly need time to bring us back, to show us our true north and the joy of nature and celebrating. With this shoot we wanted to showcase a wild but sophisticated event while enjoying the serenity that the Tetons provide. We planned a weekend that would be something each wedding guest could enjoy and use to bring them back to center. The invitation and welcome included a hiking guide full of our favorite hikes. We wanted to inspire them to explore and put themselves in the mountain before the celebration. We planned an intimate hike to Taggart Lake for our couple so they could imitate a romantic ceremony with just them and the mountains. We imagined they would hike out together, laughing and truly taking in the scenery. When they arrived they would change and stand upon a rock, gazing at the majestic Tetons, then they would say their “I dos”. Afterward, they would go and join their family for an intimate dinner overlooking the very same mountains where they just started their marriage journey. We wanted this to feel natural and wild but have a touch of sophistication. One table included a rustic farm table while the other had a linen to add an air of refinement. We added a menu card with their farm to table dinner and a compass place card that reminds guests where their true north is. We wanted to show organic florals with sleek, modern flatware and glassware. We added textures inspired by nature, smoothe silks with a rough edges. We imagined they would dine together, laughing and talking into the night while they celebrated their new marriage.
