Growing up as a little girl I always dreamed about what the fairytale wedding would look like. Cinderella to me was the definition of grace, kindness and having a friendship with animals so I wanted this shoot to reflect those characteristics. Canadian Rocky weddings tend to have a lot of horses and animals involved and there is a friendship there that needed to be captured. The venue was chosen for a few reasons, one being backyard weddings have become increasingly popular during Covid-19 and two, the buttercream yellow buildings with the Canadian fields and the mountains made for the perfect backdrop. Then came the colour palette with a soft and dusty blue, blush pink, buttercream yellow to match the house and little hints of silver, sage green and pearl white. Each vendor was meticulously chosen to bring this vision to life, from Lyndsay at Minted Photography editing with the light and airy aesthetic, to Creative Edge Flowers knowing how to make anything magical and romantic. Joanna Bisley Designs created a custom tiara for the occasion so that brides know there really are fairytale headpieces out there. The table needed to be grounded still with Canadian rustic roots which is why the antique wood was brought in and then lightened with the crystal glassware and vintage silver cutlery all from Modern Luxe Rentals. We wanted to have a good balance of recognizing the times we are currently living in and that is why each table setting was donned with an individual cake by From Scratch. Coven Creative really sent the shoot over the edge when she agreed to create a fairy tale arbour with her vintage lamp posts covered in florals. This shoot was meant to bring every little girl’s dream to life and hopefully it brings you back to those memories as well.
