Tips for Designing a Custom Wedding Album with Artifact Uprising

Congratulations! You’re newlyweds. Now what?

Perhaps you jet off somewhere tropical. Or, maybe you move into your first place together. No matter your first adventure, once the chaos has settled and you have a moment to breathe, it’s time to order keepsakes of your big day! From photo prints and thank you cards to albums full of photos, Artifact Uprising is our go-to brand for all things wedding memorabilia.

While choosing prints can be quick and easy, we know creating an album with all of your beautiful images can be hard! Luckily Artifact Uprising also offers incredible design services to help you make a beautiful album you can treasure forever. And, we’re sharing some of their insider tips below.

1. Choosing an Album

Not sure which type of album to get? Artifact Uprising recommends the Signature Layflat. This album is their premium, luxury album and a favorite among brides! It comes in a variety of linen and leather options, and add on an optional Walnut Box for safekeeping with a custom line of foil-stamped text

2. Choosing your Images

We know you worked with one of the best photographers in the Rocky Mountains, so you’ll have endless gorgeous photos to choose from. It can be hard to pick which images to use to showcase your story. Thankfully, Artifact Uprising’s talented designers shared with us their top tips for choosing images for your wedding day keepsake.

  1. If your photographer didn’t send your gallery in folders by events of the day, start by organizing them into folders such as details, getting ready, first look, ceremony, family photos, cocktail hour, reception, toasts, parting shots, etc. Don’t forget the little moments and details!
  2. Once you’ve grouped your photos, start favoriting them. They recommend starring 2-15 in each folder.
  3. Be ruthless picking your favorites and remember you can always go back to your photos and pick new ones.
  4. Try to avoid low-resolution and dark images. Make sure to upload hi-resolution images when designing your album.
  5. Be sure to choose a variety of both horizontal and vertical images. Their designers think square layflats (specifically the 10×10 or 12×12) work best for showcasing the largest variety of layouts.
  6. If you’ve got some WOW! images, let them shine! It’s okay to give photos their own page.
