Melissa Blunden is a local photographer, historian, and international adventurer and knew the Alberta Aviation Museum would provide the perfect venue for her inspirational local and vintage wedding session to take flight.
The timeless setting of Blatchford Field made the perfect venue for bringing the concepts from this Edmonton local wedding inspiration to life. The recently engaged (congrats!!!) couple featured are both international entrepreneurs, who often travel the world and are thus apart for their business, and are madly in love with one another. It was obvious that the historical airplane hanger, a provincially protected building, would create the perfect dreamy and romantic background for this jet-set loving duo. The photographer was able to tell the couple’s story in a first-class fashion.
Many of the vintage details seen in this session are actual artifacts, each with their own story to share about Edmonton and Alberta’s history. They were used with the utmost care, and with special permission from museum staff for this session. The dress – the Mimi – is by Australian designer Made With Love, and was supplied by Edmonton’s premier bridal boutique Novelle Bridal – this was its debut photoshoot. With hair and makeup by MAI Makeup, a custom headpiece by Twigs & Honey, the grooms’ details by La Maison Simons and florals created by the very talented stylists at Two Buds Florals, the inspired sentiments of vintage and wild hearts is continued.
