The Best of 2023: Cocktail Hour, Bars and Lounge Sets in the Rocky Mountains

Sit back and relax as we show you the comfiest, coziest, and most creative cocktail hours, bars, and lounge sets we saw in the Rockies this year.  Sourced from our favorite magazines, blogs, and wedding guides, these spaces created for after the ceremony remind us just how much we love celebrating a couple saying “I do”.  Whether you’re planning a stylish wedding weekend, or just want inspiration for creating an ambiance with cocktails and couches in your own home, scroll through to see our favorite fashionable lounges & bars (inspired by the beautiful Rocky Mountains!) from 2023.

One: Mountain Blues

Planning team Milk Glass Productions & this talented group of Rocky Mountain vendors put together a stunning blue-accented lounge set that got to sit in front of the most stunning background.  This “blue shoot” (also pictured above) drew from the 360 degree views of the Rocky Mountains and the blank canvas of the outdoor venue to create a timeless and serene day – and a classic, clean, and comfy lounge set was the perfect touch.  Read more about this set up in the styled shoot’s full blog post here.

Two: Amor Al Fresco

Hayley and John’s British Columbia wedding kept the celebration going after ceremony with custom cocktails garnished with fresh lavender served outside under the willow trees.  Guests enjoyed fresh oysters and lemon sorbet in the sunshine.  Check out more of their classy cocktail hour in our Canada Spring/Summer 2023 issue.

Three: A Cozy Cocktail Hour

This sophisticated and chic Ralph Lauren-inspired wedding in Vail had the coolest cocktail lounge that we wish we could cozy up in. For Sofia & Guillermo, cocktail hour came first – guests arrived and were immediately treated to cocktails on the lawn, where lounges from by Eclectic Hive elevated the landscape.  See more of S&G’s stylish set up on their wedding day blog here.

Four: Mid-Century Modern

Mari & Cam had velvet lounges in Vancouver to complete a very fun vision! “Fresh, bright, fun, and contemporary whimsy” were the vibes the couple was going for, and it came through clearly in their cocktail hour. The day reflected their cheerful personalities through a mid-century sunset color palette and playful shapes, layers and textures (hence the velvet!). We love that pink was an absolute must to incorporate, as it was their favorite color!  Check out more from this creative wedding design on M&C’s blog here

Five: Floating in the Desert

Tessa & Jobe’s earthy wedding day emphasized the elements of the beautiful Utah desert.  We loved the simplicity of their lounge – opting for monochromatic colors that didn’t contrast too much from the natural backdrop – completed by unique lamps that created space in a vast area for a floating effect.  Utah FW Tessa and Jobe, red earth venue.  Find more from this Moab moment in our Utah Fall/Winter 2023 issue.

Six: Colorful Cocktails

Inspired by the moments after a couple says “I do!“, La Fete Floral & Events planned this sophisticated & stylish, colorful & chic styled shoot at Twenty & Creek outside of Salt Lake City, Utah.  The day was all about fun, indulgence, and the special one-on-one intimate moments after the ceremony that make the night memorable – with help from delicious cocktails, course.  Those late night cocktails were shaken up by Top Shelf to help show how the party portion of your wedding day can be a focal point, and that your cocktails can be decor, too.  See more reasons why this creative shoot inspires us to celebrate in style on the full blog here.

Seven: Cheers to a Champagne Wall

If you can greet your guests with a champagne wall, then *wine* not?!  This creative statement piece at Jane & Keenan’s Alberta wedding was all they needed to make our cocktail hour favorites list.  Sip and see more shots from their stylish celebration in our Canada Spring/Summer 2023 issue!

Eight: A Southwestern Soiree

Inspired by Southwestern romance, Just Lovely Weddings and this talented team of vendors put together the prettiest lounge at their Taos styled shoot.  Fittingly, they included teracotta-colored cocktails that were *almost* too pretty to drink.  See more southwestern style from this shoot in our New Mexico 2023 magazine.

Nine: Bold and Boozy

Color-themed cocktails can’t not make our list, and these dramatic-hued, drinkable escort cards make us want to sip and be seated at this styled shoot until springtime.  Blue Lily Event Planning perfected a fun autumn palette, with some help from VI Wedding Services shaking up in style.   See more of these bold beverages in British Columbia in our Canada Fall/Winter 2023 issue.

Ten: On Cloud 9

It turns out, bubbles are even better enjoyed in the clouds!  Our Jonah Events planned this chic, black and white editorial shoot and the cocktails followed suit.  Simple dirty martinis and champagne created a colorless menu to match the classic white florals and the natural light filling the venue.  *Shake* out some more inspiration from this styled shoot in our Canada Fall/Winter 2023 issue.

Eleven: An Encampment in Encampment

Lounging in Laura and Richard’s wedding tent looks like a dream!  We love this Wyoming wedding day and its’ warm colors and textures – from Under the Sky Event Rental‘s canvas tent, to the leather lounge furniture.  Look deeper inside this covered lounge in Encampment, WY in our Wyoming 2023 magazine.

Twelve: After “I Do” in Idaho

Helen + JP’s guests got to hang out in this list-topping tented lounge while taking a break from celebrating the newlyweds in Sun Valley.  The gorgeous furniture, twinkle lights, and natural light coming through created an ambiance that inspires us heading into the new year.  See more of this light & bright lounge in our Sun Valley Wedding Guide.

Thirteen: Popping (Champagne) in Pink

Last but certainly not least, Lauren & Eric’s lovely bar made our list (of course)!  This pink lover’s dream makes us want to drink some champagne and dance the night away.  Get more gorg inspo from this downtown Denver wedding day in this year’s National Rocky Mountain Bride magazine.
