It was one of those nights that I just didn’t want to go out. My best friend graduated earlier in the day and insisted we celebrate, so I put on my best skinny jeans and dragged myself to the local bar. Bored and on our way to buy overpriced drinks, my friend and I walked past Tony, and by the time I got back to my table, I followed him on social media. Thankfully, he got the not-so subtle message, and by the next day we knew our fates were sealed. We fell deeply for one another and got engaged in Italy several years later. Like many other couples, we had to postpone the wedding because of Covid-19. But when April 25, 2021 came along, and we were saying our vows against the backdrop of the Utah mountains, the winding detours it took to get to that point didn’t matter. We were there, our loved ones were there, and it was the best day of our lives.
