Emerald Lake Lodge, located on a private island on Emerald Lake just 20 minutes west of Lake Lousie, is a secluded destination perfect for those looking for an adventurous, yet cozy and romantic getaway! Founded by Tom Wilson over 130 years ago, Emerald Lake Lodge is chock full of history and antiques while still offering a unique mix of luxury meets nature.
The good news about this mini-moon spot is it’s beautiful all year round making it the perfect travel destination no matter the season. From the crystal clear lake and stunning trees to the timeless design and mountain vistas, you’ll be completely surrounded by views unlike anything else.
If you’re looking to sneak off for a short getaway after you say I do, then follow along as we share why Emerald Lake Lodge should be at the top of your destinations list!
On the shores of the famous lake, this lodge accommodates those who want to unwind in ultimate comfort and history. Its 13-acre property holds 24 cabin-style buildings designed to reflect the traditional architecture of the lodge from when it was first founded. Each room features private baths, balconies, and wood-burning fireplaces. Doesn’t it just sound dreamy to curl up with the love of your life with a glass of wine in front of a wood-crackling fire at the end of each night?
Emerald Lake Lodge is not in short supply of outdoor activities. That’s one of the reasons we love it so much; you’ll get to experience the perfect mini-moon with incredible views and time outdoors in the Candian Rockies. Activities available by season at the Lodge include gondola and chair lift rides, dog sledding, sleigh rides, canoeing, hiking, biking, white water rafting and so many more. It’s truly the best destination for those adventurous at heart!
We recommend booking your activities before your trip to make the most of your time in the beautiful outdoors at Emerald Lake Lodge.
The food alone is enough to make us book a trip at the Lodge. Rocky Mountain cuisine, a warm atmosphere, and delicious drinks are just a few things offered by the many dining opportunities. Eat at the Mount Burgess Dining Room to enjoy free-range elk, bison, and caribou with a sophisticated array of desserts. Or, spend time in the Kicking Horse Lounge for micro-brewed beers and world-famous single malt Scotches. The bar in the Kicking Horse Lounge is the original 1890’s Yukon Bar, which means this room is full of history for you and your new spouse to wonder and chat about over drinks. If you’re on move, the Cilantro Cafe is perfect for grab-and-go bites to eat in between your amazing outdoor adventures. Its stunning views may have you wanting to stay a bit longer in the cafe before heading out into the Rockies again.
We can’t forget to mention the stainless steel outdoor hot tub. This hot tub, nestled in between sky-high trees, is available to enjoy any time of the year. Stay at Emerald Lake Lodge in the winter and enjoy a dip in this hot tub surrounded by pristine, white snow. Experience the Lodge in the summer and end your day with a relaxing soak to ease your sore muscles from all of the outdoor activities. It’s the perfect spot to get a little R&R with your significant other!
Emerald Lake Lodge is the perfect mini-moon spot for couples who want a piece of history with an atmosphere of ultimate relaxation. It’s traditional cuisine, delicious drinks and multitude of outdoor activities are just a few of the reasons we’re packing our bags for our own vacation at Emerald Lake Lodge. We hope to see you there!
