Madi + Walter are literally the most incredibly humans you will ever meet. They are kind, so much fun and so, so, SO in love. Their connection is everything and photographing their engagement was a highlight from our entire year. We were fortunate to have connected with Walter when he was a groomsman in a previous wedding party, and the time we have spent connecting with Madi has been such a pleasure.

For their session, we explored Glenora Trails Regional Park at the suggestion of our beautiful couple. We always look for locations that allow us to celebrate living on the west coast, but also provide us with the space and opportunity to get lost in the wilderness, and Glenora was the perfect pairing. It’s filled with endless trees and forests as far as the eye can see, and it perfectly represents everything we love about the west coast.

Walter and I became really good friends at age 14 when I moved and we started going to the same high school. The following summer we started dating when we were just 15. We had our first kiss one night when Walter convinced me to meet him up the road to talk about our other friend, it was all part of his plan to make a move! We actually lived down the road from each other, so we would regularly sneak over in the middle of the night to each other’s places. (Sorry mom and dad!)

Walter proposed at my university graduation party with family. Walter convinced me that we needed champagne to do a toast, so when he went to do the toast I thought, “Aw he’s going to say nice things about me!” Little did I know, he’d asked my parents the day before about proposing and all his friends knew!

This summer will be our 11th anniversary, our perfect wedding and the beginning of our new lives together.
