Amanuel Mekonnen proposed to Chandler Bryant June of 2019. Amanuel had planned a surprise hike with friends, who conveniently bailed last minute, on the Anemone Trail in Boulder, CO. Little did Chandler know he had also asked his buddy from college who is a professional photographer, Ryan Waneka, to document the whole ordeal. She said Yes! and the rest is history. Ryan did an epic job and actually had their photos ready later that day just in time for a surprise engagement party Amanuel had planned.
When they were deciding who to use for their engagement photos, Ryan was a no brainer since he has the most outgoing and cheerful attitude ever and was there from the start. He was more than game for their 4AM sunrise shoot on top of Mount Evans by Summit Lake. Amanuel and Chandler are actually getting married at Blackstone Rivers Ranch next July, which is nestled along the road up to Mt. Evans, so they figured this would be a great opportunity to also scope out some potential photo locations for their big day. The mid-September shoot was chilly no doubt, but the mix of cool sunrise tones against the warm fall colors was well worth it. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
