Adventure is a big part of Jeff and Paige’s relationship. Together, they fly-fish, mountain bike, surf and nordic ski, just to name a few, always pushing the limits and exploring what else is out there to learn. Jeff is a business owner who has a passion for big wave surfing and back-country snow-boarding; he’s pretty extreme. Paige is a Senior Marketing Director for a fitness company and loves to stay fit and healthy through boot camp classes, pilates, yoga, and outdoor activities. Together, they are an active couple, just looking for the next big adventure!
The wedding was a perfect reflection of Jeff and Paige as a couple and as individuals. Taking place in a rustic, laid back country-western setting, they decided to glam the event up a bit with a black-tie optional affair. The juxtaposition between the casual rustic nature of the space and the glam/formalness of the wedding really tied in our personal styles.
We also wanted our wedding weekend to be more than just a traditional one-night event, we wanted our guests to have their own adventures, creating memories that they’ll remember forever; that’s why we had a Friday wedding – to force our guests to check out of work early, come to our wedding on Friday, and then go out and play in the snow on Saturday before heading back to reality on Sunday. It was perfect because everyone really took advantage of the time they had in Sun Valley – doing what they love, with the ones they love.
I also understood from all of my friends and family who have been married that your wedding night goes by in a blink of an eye, with barely any quality time to spend with your guests who traveled all that way to be a part of your big day. So, we kept the celebrations rolling with a Saturday night ‘Italian Fest’ house party, as Paige and Jeff are both Italian descent. This enabled us to spend more quality time with our guests, have meaningful conversations with them and feel like we got to really visit with everyone.
In addition to the beauty and wondrous sites Sun Valley offers, there are a few other reasons why this wedding is noteworthy:
Their ‘Registry’: Instead of a traditional gift registry, Jeff and Paige encouraged guests to donate to a local charity – Higher Grounds, as well as a national charity – Wounded Warriors. My husband, Jeff’s dad was a fighter pilot for the US Navy and my grandpa a Navy vet, so both of these causes are near and dear to our heart. We were able to raise thousands of dollars for these charities and want to continue to drive awareness specifically for Higher Grounds, as it’s not as well known. https://highergroundusa.org
The vendors: this town has the greatest, hidden gem of vendors that are beyond fantastic at their jobs – and I want everyone to see how talented these people are!
The town: Sun Valley is the best place in the world (to us), and we want to drive more business there, as it’s a resort town that thrives on tourism and events.
