Summer Wedding at Moss Denver

Denver Wedding

Laura first reached out to me about capturing hers and Rabin’s engagement photos back in 2017. I knew we were going to hit it off because she asked if they could include their golden retriever in the shoot. I’m the biggest sucker for dogs, so of course, I said yes! Laura and Rabin (and their pup Maple) had the biggest, cheesiest smiles the entire time. They were so happy and in love, they made my job easy! Fortunately, they enjoyed their engagement photos so much they asked me to be their wedding photographer. I couldn’t have been more thrilled! I am not lying when I say their wedding was the most fun wedding I’ve ever been to/photographed. There were so many laughs and smiles during their ceremony both from the couple and their guests (and definitely me). Laura looked like a model straight out of a bridal magazine, and Rabin couldn’t resist a few tears when he saw her walking down the aisle. Those tears quickly turned into smiles as they stood across each other vowing their love. They were both just so happy to make things official. Laura and Rabin’s relationship is one I truly admire because of how much fun they have together in addition to sharing those special, intimate moments. From capturing their engagement photos and wedding day, it was obvious they were each other’s best friend. Their love was so natural and effortless; a kind of love we all hope to find. I have no doubt they make each other smile and laugh every single day just as they did on their wedding day.

Behind the Wedding Day

When I thought about my wedding style before we were deep in planning, I knew it was meant to be very natural and elegant without being too over the top. I knew I wanted our wedding party to look and feel their best but also be comfortable because we were going to be spending most of the time laughing and dancing! We also knew we were going to have close to 100 family members at our wedding, mostly from out of town, so we wanted everyone to be comfortable and enjoy themselves!

I’d had a vision for different color bridesmaid dresses all within a dusty purple & rose color palette for a while, but I was so surprised how well it came together! And the florals couldn’t have complemented that vision any better. I asked for natural, loose bouquets with different shades of purples & dusty rose and lots of greenery. Project Floral did an incredible job with the bouquets, centerpieces, and the altar backdrop. Flowers were the main décor throughout and they really pulled the whole theme together. For the men, I wanted them to have a classic look and Generation Tux definitely delivered just that.

When it came to selecting a location, I loved Moss right away. It fits in with our style and was the perfect layout for ceremony + reception in one place. My husband and I have both spent the majority of our lives in Colorado, so we also wanted that to show in our style. The Santa Fe art district neighborhood around Moss helped with that, and it ended up being great for photos. A photographer, in my opinion, was one of the most important vendor decisions because photos are such a great way to remember all of the special moments. We chose Wild Jasmine Photography because of her love for taking candid, natural photos of love stories. We have a hard time being too serious so her style fit well with ours.

Our caterer was excellent. Occasions is truly full service and they helped us with not only catering but made vendor suggestions, gave tips on flow and set up, etc. We knew from day one that we were going to have build-your-own mac n’ cheese and they were on board from the beginning.

I could go on forever about how everything exceeded my expectations, but I couldn’t have done it without all of our awesome vendors and especially our planner, The Gardner Effect. When I first walked into the venue and saw everyone working together to make our day perfect, that’s when I was able to start to relax and enjoy every moment of the night.
