Christina + Blake from the very beginning knew that they wanted a small wedding with only their closest friends + family. They knew that they wanted to focus on the REASON behind their day, and not get caught up in all the trends and little details like flowers or people they really didn’t even know – that really didn’t matter to them personally. The things that mattered most to them – their love for each other and they wanted to create memories with their closest people while doing so in a place they had never been before. They + their whole family is from Ohio, and they knew they wanted an adventure in a beautiful mountain town – they hadn’t been married before so why not have it in a place none of their family had ever been before either? Exploring new ground for the very first time during such an important time in their life!
The day was so special – we woke up before the sun came up, Christina + Blake slipped on their wedding clothes with a homemade bouquet in hand, and we headed into the park for their first look. They exchanged the most beautiful vows that jerked tears out of both of them, and we spent the morning exploring the park. They wanted the day to be relaxed and carefree, just like them, so the rest of the afternoon they hung out with their family + friends exploring Estes Park, grabbing lunch and coffee, before getting ready for their ceremony later in the evening.
Then as the clouds rolled in, right before the storm, we headed back into the park with 25 of their closest friends and family all the way Ohio – for them to be married with one of the most beautiful backdrops! We chased the storm the rest of the evening and still can’t get over the insane views and stormy clouds above us that made for the end of a perfect intimate day in the Rocky Mountains.
