The dream for this shoot was inspired by the natural surroundings of new life that springtime brings. Living in the mountains of Jackson hole, Spring doesn’t come when the calendar says spring should start. There is patience that must be had by all that live in the area. But when the weather does start to change, and the grass starts to turn green and the flowers begin to bloom, it is energizing and inspiring. The local lilac bushes that are easily found throughout the area carry such a strong and fresh scent that they are hard to ignore. The beauty of their scent and the rich purple flower is was sparked the desire to plan a stylized shoot that gives tribute to our local surroundings. We wanted to capture the hardy plants with the Grand Tetons as the backdrop to capture the magic of what it is to live in the mountains. The lilacs were foraged by the talented florist just days after they had bloomed. The dress provided by Chantel Lauren was beautiful and moved freely in the wind and perfectly portrayed the free spirit the mountains provide. We were able to borrow a vintage ring from the 1920s that perfectly matched the deep purple of the lilacs. The tables and its details were designed and arranged also by the florist with a classic yet modern feel to you. During the shoot, we were surrounded by looming clouds that come in without notice in the mountain range. There were also some raindrops felt, but then the clouds parted and we had the perfect filtered light that highlighted the beautiful bride and her dress. A rainbow even greeted us as we finished up the last shots of the evening. We are lucky to live in such a spectacular area that gives us majestic views and beautiful vegetation.
