Spring Chautauqua Park Engagement

Love Story

Nicole and Anthony’s love is a contagious one! We took off for the foothills of Boulder at Chautauqua Park this spring, with their two rescue Great Dane’s Rue and Marley for an evening filled with puppy flower crowns, an undeniable love, and gazing at those Flatiron Mountains.

Nicole and Anthony were both born in New York, but Anthony grew up in Las Vegas, while Nicole lived on Long Island. The two met when Anthony decided to head back to New York, and attend grad school at NYU. With mutual friends in Brooklyn, they ended up at a party together one night. Nicole said, “At first I thought Anthony was really sassy! But after talking to him I realized how sweet and thoughtful he is.” For their first real date, Anthony took Nicole to see Wicked on Broadway! Can you think of a more epic New York City first date?

The two decided to move out to Boulder together a few years ago. Nicole is a florist at Fawns Leap in Boulder. Naturally, florals needed to be included in their engagement session! This last Christmas, 2018, Anthony and Nicole spent their first Christmas just the two of them, and their dogs, in Colorado. Nicole said, “Anthony was teasing me all week about getting a big gift for Christmas. He gave me the first one about a week before Christmas, and sure enough…it was the game Uno! A few days later came a puzzle, then a candle, and they kept coming. Then on Christmas night, we had a romantic candlelit dinner that we prepared together. After hours of cooking, we finally sat down, when Anthony put on my favorite song and asked if I was ready for the big gift. I immediately began balling. I knew what was coming! I said I was ready and he stood up, walked over, and got on one knee! Of course I said yes!” One of the sweetest parts of this story is that Nicole’s engagement ring has two smaller rings that go with it. They were attached on the collars of their two dogs, while Anthony proposed. One is a diamond crescent to match Marley’s fur color, the other a black diamond crescent to match Rue’s black coat!

Rue and Marley have been a big part of their lives. Both Great Danes are from Save the Giants Rescue. They knew after adopting Rue that she needed a friend, so along came Marley. This engagement session would not have been complete without Rue and Marley!
