This modern, minimalist shoot took place in greater Vancouver at the versatile A La Mode Bottega where, with the sun streaming through the expansive east-facing windows, Maddie and Kelsie celebrated and cherished their age-long relationship. With a focus on femininity and modernity, our team of vendors chose a minimalistic palette – comprised of creamy textures and shades of blush pink. To achieve the light, organic, airy bouquets, florist Sumuey of Lamsear Floral created a floral armature from olive branches. These lush and textured bouquets consisted of dahlias, cosmos, eucalyptus, dried dill, and nine bark – all grown locally from her garden. Both brides wore dresses from local designer, Fern and Moon. Maddie wore the timeless Celeste Wrap Dress, a lightweight crepe gown that easily catches the breeze and moves with an airy, delicate drape and yet is versatile enough for a dramatic church entrance or a modern gallery ceremony. Made from the softest satin cut on the bias, Kelsie donned the Sylvia Slip Dress, a long spaghetti strap gown featuring a thigh-high split and ruching up one side, accentuating the female form. Hair and makeup artist, Rae completed Maddie’s look with a classic wave, a hint of a smiley eye, and a nude lip, which was complemented by Janice Tan’s delicate Adelaide hairpins and Polly earrings. Meanwhile, to play up Kelsie’s natural curl, Rae ran a wand through her hair and kept her makeup natural with light pinks and bright eyes. To top it off, Kelsie wore the hand-sculpted floral Sarah Crown from Janice Tan, along with a pair of Sindy earrings. Playing to their bohemian spirit, Maddie and Kelsie both chose to go barefoot – grounding them to nature and their connection to each other. Bespoke Decor designed the tablescape, complementing the soft muted tones and playing up the texture with a gold velvet tablecloth and ghost chairs. Maddie and Kelsie’s bespoke wedding invitations, vow books, and place cards were custom made by OMD Creative, whose natural-toned, textural stationery acted as the final touches to bring together a cohesively styled feminine and minimalist aesthetic wedding. The icing on the cake to the day, literally, was a stunning textural cake by Nicole McEachnie featuring wafer paper hydrangeas with individually wired petals.
