Emily + George
The soft colors and dreamy light create an ethereal atmosphere for this Aspen elopement. Jacie Marguerite Photography captured every detail of Emily + George’s elopement, previously meant for Greece. We’re drooling over Emily’s stunning Jonathan Simkhai dress!
Separated by only one block in New York’s West Village, George and Emily agreed to meet on a blind date — at the insistence of their mutual friend (who worked for Bumble at the time!). On a late-summer Sunday evening, a ‘quiet’ drink led to dinner at their NYC favorite, Barbuto. The couple has been inseparable ever since. After nearly a year together, George Rapits and Emily Bibb are the Co-Founders of New York-based Curated – a remote work technology startup with the largest community of boutique agencies + workplace tech — thriving during the time of Covid and the changing world. Previously, George built the fintech company Credible (acquired in 2019 by Fox). Emily is also the Founder of luxury swimwear brand, EAU CLUB (featured in Vogue, Bloomingdales, Moda Operandi, etc). Prior, Emily was global head of digital S’well and KCD (the largest fashion agency, worldwide).
When our wedding in Greece was postponed due to Covid, we still wanted to celebrate our love with a marriage ceremony in our second home of Aspen, Colorado (we live between NYC and Aspen). As most of our family and friends could not travel (George is Australian of Greek heritage), so we decided to keep it intimate with an elopement in the most magical place. The day began with wedding prep at the iconic Hotel Jerome. In the late afternoon we headed out to Cathedral Lake, in Aspen’s Ashcroft region, where our small ceremony was held in the early evening in a secluded field of florals (that we scouted ourselves!). We ended the day perfectly, with the entire town of Aspen cheering us as we walked through, into our celebratory reception at Kemo Sabe – Aspen’s iconic Western store/bar.
