Kerstin + Bryan
These two lovebirds brought along their darling pup for their snowy Lost Gulch Overlook engagement session with Taylor Nicole Photography. Cozy up and grab a warm drink for this winter engagement!
Kerstin + Bryan’s engagement is a great example of how to make the most of Colorado’s wild weather for an engagement session! We wanted snow for their winter session, but we never expected just how much snow would come down. We ended up being resourceful and using the back of their Subaru to catch a break from the heavy snow fall! The snow started to slow as the session came to an end and we caught the gorgeous overlook views at the top of Lost Gulch. We ended up getting more unique portraits and capturing more of this couple’s personality and story because of the weather than if it had been a clear day.

We rented a Sprinter van and planned a road trip taking us from Denver to San Luis Obispo, where we first met. After spending the first few days in the deserts of Southern Utah and Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada, we eventually arrived in SLO. We grabbed dinner at one of our favorite spots downtown and Kerstin recommended that we go for a sunset hike. BINGO. I had no idea what I was going to do leading up to this moment. I brought a camera up with us, asked her to make sure it was working, got down on one knee, and froze. I didn’t say a single word from my speech I had been prepping, called her by her nickname to get her attention and asked her to marry me. She said yes and we celebrated with a cocktail at a swanky bar downtown.
