It was a magical evening up on the Grand Mesa of Colorado with Shannon and Alex. As I drove up to the mountain there were blasts of snow blowing all around me, but when I arrived there was just the tiniest hint of flurries falling from the sky. The lodge where we met was closed for “inclement weather,” so it was just the outdoors, the beautiful couple, their dog and I as we trudged through the snow. I know they were absolutely freezing, but luckily they had Sophie June to keep them warm, and also to make their photos extra special. Alex also brought some of his firefighter gear to represent his career and passion as a firefighter. It also came in handy for keeping warm as the evening grew cold, and everyone except the dog struggled to make it through the waist-high snow. Even though Shannon and Alex both ended up with the flu the next day, they’d admit that it was worth it to capture these great memories and to celebrate their engagement.
