There is nothing more romantic than a cozy winter wedding complete with the fall of fluffy snow. It was the simplicity of winter beauty that inspired us most when Ashley J Photography and I sat down to discuss the perfect holiday shoot concept.
Wildlife Landing is a newer venue in Stevensville, MT that set the ideal wintery scene for our winter wonderland shoot. We were so nervous there was not going to be snow that day, but it arrived just in time to create a more magical landscape than we could have asked for. The bride wore an ivory satin Katie May gown and a white faux fur shawl that contrasted nicely with the groom's tweed suit jacket. Ashley did a lovely job of finding pops of Christmas color around the venue property for our bride and groom to travel to-- I could not help but fall in love with the shots in front of the evergreen trees and the red vintage truck.
For the other shoot details, we wanted to embrace the formality of the holiday season while emphasizing the beauty of the neutral grey, brown and white hues that surround us this time of year. Our stunning table scape was adorned with evergreen, cotton and pine cone arrangements crafted by Mum's flowers and each place setting was topped off with kraft paper gifts and handmade tags written by August and Stone. The vision came together flawlessly with the touch of a charcoal velvet table cloth.
No holiday wedding would be complete without gingerbread cookies and red velvet cake. Cakes by Gretchen created a charming spread of holiday desserts with sugared cranberry details. A touch of hot cocoa in copper mugs completed the scene. The shoot ended with a sweet and cozy bonfire. The perfect ending to a romantic winter wedding day.
