Kelsey + Jacob
Escaping our nursing careers during a pandemic and adventuring to one of our most beloved places on earth, the Pearson Ranch near Big Sandy, Montana, was a no brainer for Jacob and I during a hot July evening. After my 12 hour shift in ICU, Jacob and I, along with our golden girls Penny and Bailey, could not wait to escape the chaos of reality. Jacob and I were able to witness the most stunning sailors delight sunset that either of us have ever seen on our journey north. Nestled along the Missouri River in the heart of Montana near the Upper Breaks, lays the Pearson Ranch. Known for their scrumptious home grown cantaloupe, horseback rides, wide open space, and starring nights, the farm replenished our hearts and souls. Jacob and I spent the Fourth of July fishing on the river and lighting off fireworks that night. Stars and tractor equipment were the only thing in sight when being mesmerized but the bright explosions. July 5, 2020: a day I will cherish forever. Jacob took me to one of his favorite outlooks over the Missouri River, unexpectedly finding deer sheds along the way. We soaked up the warm sun while having a picnic, gazing over the Montana landscape in awe. As we were packing up, Jacob grabbed my hands and got down on one knee. The epitome of selflessness, positivity, safety and consistent love was right in front of me. Stuttering, he was able to get the words out. This was the first time I have ever seen my man cry. Seeing the person I love in front of me with the beautiful landscape I appreciate in the background was one of the best feelings I have ever experienced. Jacob is the person I will never stop looking for in a crowed place. P.s He did ask my father first, hallelujah!
