Savannah + Tommy
On a smokey, toasty, summer day in August, right on the shores of the Twin Lakes in North Idaho, Savannah and Tommy got together at the Twinlow Campground to celebrate with friends and family from all over the country to come together as husband and wife…and as a family with Tommy’s daughter as a bridesmaid.
There is something about a wedding when the family comes together to help make a couple’s day just that much more special. Savannah’s mama made all of the florals and hand-etched the champagne flutes for both Savannah and Tommy. All of the bridesmaids were all hands on deck getting things in order while all the groomsmen were down at the lodge problem solving the swamp cooler which had crashed just that morning.
And yet, despite all. These two’s love was eminent throughout the entire day and it was just an endless joy to watch their love for one another and towards Tommy’s daughter. As a mama and wife to a blended family as well, it’s these weddings that are just a little bit sweeter for me, because I know how special and important a wedding day is when you’re bringing families together.
Savannah and Tommy’s first look was one for the books as Savannah showed up with all of her ladies in one of the boats Tommy had built to meet him on the dock where they celebrated with hugs, kisses and then whiskey all around for their bridal party.
After one of the quickest ceremony’s to date (these two could not wait to be married) they celebrated with drinks, tacos, music and community in the lodge before we snuck off for twenty minutes back on the boat to capture golden hour on the water, and holy FRICK it was absolutely MAGICAL! I was not well.
It was such a sweet day and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it. Congratulations Savannah and Tommy! I adore you both so much and wish you all the joy and love in the world.
