In a time when weddings are becoming seemingly more extravagant and overwhelming, this shoot was intended to give adventurous brides and grooms an alternative to the typical large wedding. This van life styled elopement was inspired by the idea of bringing weddings back to what it's really all about: the connection between two people.
The story behind the styled shoot? A couple who travels the country in their vintage VW camper van decide to elope at a campsite in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, with their van decked out to be the coziest little bridal oasis.
The two began their wedding morning snuggling up in the doorway of their van, drinking coffee and cuddling, while their sweet dog wandered around the campsite.
After getting ready, the two spent some time hiking through the mountains and playing in the woods. Rather than spend the moments before the ceremony being rushed around, we really wanted to showcase the idea that brides and grooms should be able to allow themselves some time before the wedding to really soak in the moment and be alone with each other.
Their self-solemnizing ceremony (one of the many amazing perks of getting married in Colorado!) took place in between two gorgeous trees at the campsite, with a lovely macrame hanging between them. They said their vows as their sweet pup stood at attention by their feet.
After the elopement ceremony, the two made their way to their campsite dinner. The low to the ground dinner table, set atop two lovely Moroccan rugs, was surrounded by floor cushions and a collection of rose gold lanterns. It was like having a taste of Morocco in the mountains of Colorado.
Once the wedding celebrations were over, the two changed out of their wedding attire and cozied up in their vintage camper van, decked out with dozens of twinkling lights. They snuggled until the sun set behind the trees and left everything but their sweet little van in shadow.
