Ashley + Braeden
Our love story began the same way all good, classy love stories start. At 1 am on a Saturday night at a dive bar. He walked in as my girlfriends and I were going to leave and I convinced the girls to stay for one last drink because “my crush” just walked in. I knew who he was because I worked with his mom and previously stalked his Instagram. He headed straight for the bar to get a drink and casually I followed. I stood and waited for him to strike up a conversation but he was preoccupied with the boys, as they just came for a drink after being out fishing all day. After realizing I was going to have to be the one to make the first move, I chickened out, sat back down and was ready to call it a night. Then low and behold a stranger comes to sit at our all girls table to introduce himself. He sits directly across from me and puts out his hand to shake mine ,“I’m Braeden,” he says confidently. “I know,” I responded with a smirk. The rest is history.

It is hard not to be mesmerized by the landscape of the west coast. It often inspires the many wedding professionals that have a hand in creating these momentous events in the Lower Mainland. This styled shoot took place on a beautiful Sunday evening alongside the beautiful Pitt Lake. The heat from the day lingered as the sun set slowly over the mountain range. Ashley was adorned with a beautiful one-of-a-kind wedding gown by She Wore Flowers, featuring delicate lace, soft mauve floral details, and stunning full-length sleeves.
Van Simone Floral created a mix of dried and fresh florals in a soft ivory, dusty rose, and peachy colour palette. The wedding bouquet and dress complimented one another in colour, as well as movement, as they both swayed from the mountain wind coming off the lake. It was VSF’s intention to bring a little luxury to the wild and ethereal Pitt Meadows location while still ensuring the west coast landscape remained front and center.

I am just thrilled that everyone and everything came together for this beautiful collaboration in such an unknown time (COVID-19) that I had been planning for just over half of the year. I was inspired by the beauty of the mountains, the open roads and the golden fields of this beautiful little city in British Columbia, Canada.
