Idaho Elopement

We fell in love through our shared sense of adventure. We are both pretty free-spirited. Tyler is a smokejumper for the Bureau of Land Management. Katie runs an online health and wellness business and a headband company that helps support Wildland firefighters. Having jobs like these gives us the freedom to travel and explore so many beautiful areas.

There was no better place for us to do our vows than somewhere where the power of nature is so tangible. We wanted our exchange of vows to be an intimate experience where it was truly about just the two of us. We were grateful that Thistle and Pine were able to facilitate us having the experience we craved without interruption while still being able to capture it on film with the organic feel of those moments attached.

We had a small wedding with only family in the city of Bend, Oregon where we met each other for the first time, and conveniently where most of our families live. There was a lot of love, laughter, and children running around on the day of our wedding. We didn’t even have a caterer, Tyler did most of the cooking. Except for the cake, that was made by a great bakeshop in Bend…he’s not that talented.

If we had any advice on wedding stuff, it would be to make it uniquely yours and to have fun with the process…we surely did!
