Sandia Mountain Foothills Engagement

Proposal Story

Cody and Kate met each other the day after Kate moved to Albuquerque while she was walking her dog downtown. Cody was moving to New Zealand in the upcoming weeks for six months, and while away they became dear friends. Once he returned, Cody and Kate became best friends and soon started to fall for each other. One day while on a hike, Cody turned to Kate and said, “If I ever took you on a date, it would be the best date of your life!” Kate agreed to the date, but the date could happen in two months once she was back from her summer of traveling. While traveling and hiking in the Grand Canyon, Cody met Kate, and the rest is history. Cody proposed to Kate on 1/18/2018 in Corrales, NM. In a barn showered with red rose petals, luminaria pathways, strings of hanging lights, and photos hanging from the stable walls; Cody read a letter he had written and sat Kate down to wash her feet. After washing her feet, he asked her to be his wife. He blindfolded Kate, and drove her to Humble Coffee Company, as he guided her into the coffee shop, he had all of their family and friends waiting for them to celebrate their engagement. Cody flew in her best friends from Guatemala, Michigan, and Massachusetts for the event.
