The Couple

Abbra + Tanner

We at Rocky Mountain Bride love the variety of weddings from each Rocky Mountain state, which is why this wedding caught our eye! Abbra + Tanner wanted the perfect blend of rustic-chic, all while showcasing Montana’s natural beauty. Their wedding at O’Hair Ranch Lodge captures the raw, natural beauty of Montana, while making us feel warm and cozy. We loved seeing photos of a couple surrounded by family and friends who genuinely love each other and, thanks to Sara Nagel Photography, we feel like we were there for the big day!

The Proposal

On Memorial Day weekend the couple went skiing down the Beartooth Pass with their friends & family, just as they did every year. But as Abbra came down to the bottom of the hill, she noticed that Tanner + their whole clan were standing there holding a giant sign that said, “Marry Me?” It was unexpected, but still celebrated in the best way possible with the people they love!

The Wedding

Abbra grew up on a ranch and both she & Tanner are very outdoorsy people. So they knew that they wanted to get married somewhere that encompassed all the beauty that Montana possesses! O’Hair Ranch Lodge in Paradise Valley was the perfect venue for their rustic-chic wedding. The epic mountain views, the tall grassy fields that seem to never end, and the rushing water of the Yellowstone River made a picture-esque backdrop for their big day.

Abbra + Tanner’s wedding was focused on connection. The connection that they have with each other as well as their family + friends. Tanner wore his late grandfather’s pocket watch that was almost 100 years old. Abbra’s father sang a song that he wrote just for the couple, and it brought everyone to tears at the reception. The Groom’s best man surprised him by pretending to be the bride during their first look. He even wore a wedding dress to truly fit the part. It was quite comical to say the least!

You can tell that everyone at this wedding is one big family and they love each other whole-heartedly. It was such a magical event to be a part of!
