The mountains have always called to me. I am new to Colorado and wanted to plan a shoot to showcase a beautiful venue in the Colorado Springs area. South of Denver doesn’t seem to get as much credit as it should for how beautiful the mountain views are! I gathered a team of amazing vendors, most from Colorado Springs, a few from Denver, and set out to create a romantic, spring-inspired editorial at Spruce Mountain Ranch. I love this venue for its mix of rustic, rugged outdoors (it is a working cattle ranch after all!) and it’s simplistic timeless beauty. We tried to showcase both throughout. The groom is pictured with the rustic cabin in the background and the bride is in a field with the mountain backdrop. Being on the cusp of spring we wanted our table to be something different. We played with textures from different flowers and brought in fruit for spring, used jewel tones to bring in the winter aspect, and aimed to bring a subtle untamed aspect to the setting. The gorgeous long-sleeve gown from AlenaLeena Bridal was perfect for the change in season and we added a blanket here and there for a pop of color and a way to snuggle even more. The entire project was shot on medium format film. I hope you find inspiration from this romantic, spring styled shoot!
