Inspiration Behind the Shoot
From the Photographer, Minted Photography
“Emerald Lake Lodge is one of British Columbia's most beautiful mountain venues and we wanted to showcase what a glamorous romantic wedding could look like there. Teal Minisofer from The Well Styled Life designed and coordinated the gorgeous reception details while Aileen Fretz from Plume Calligraphy designed the stationary. The team went with soft pinks, grey's and golds to emphasize the soft romantic feeling of the shoot. The beautiful gown was provided by Pearl and Dot and hair and makeup was done by the Pretty Haus Collective.
We arrived at Emerald Lake Lodge to shoot the reception details outside Cilantro on the Lake. As the rain clouds gathered above we quickly moved to the docks to capture some images of our bride and groom by the emerald green water that Emerald Lake Lodge is so well known for. For the ceremony we made the short trip down the road to Kicking Horse River Falls where we were able to capture all of the ceremony and some of the formals before the sky opened up and the rain came pouring down. Our bride and groom were great sports though, insisting that we keep on shooting!
I had always wanted to shoot at Emerald Lake and I was not disappointed. From the breathtaking mountain views to the clear green waters, this location is something dreams are made of! I can't wait to go back one day!”
