Brooke + Zachary
From our time as high school sweethearts to now dog parents, we have never questioned our love for each other. Since about three months into our relationship, we knew we wanted to be together forever. After we got engaged, we continually looked forward to the day where we would say “I do.” We were so excited, and then it got cancelled due to Covid-19. It was a curve ball and a surprise, but we knew it was the safest option to keep our friends and family safe. And with two weeks before the big day, we planned an intimate elopement off the side of the Beartooth Highway followed by a backyard reception!
We refused to let anyone or anything take our love away. Over the last year, July 26th became the biggest date in our lives, and we refused to give it up. We could not imagine the day without exchanging vows and becoming husband and wife. We are so glad we listened to our hearts and eloped, because it turns out, all you need is a random field, your loved ones, grilled cheese, and the perfect person to have the best day of your life.
We had our first look at the top of the Beartooth Pass, we expressed our love for each other in a field of wild grass, we danced the night away under twinkle lights, and we stuffed some cake in each other’s faces. Maybe after this year and Covid-19, brides and grooms will realize what is important and that the big wedding may not be the best option. For us, it wasn’t.
