This shoot was inspired by the natural tones of the red rock and stunning blue water of Lake Powell. I did a lot of research and found the perfect location that could show off the beauty of the area in 360 degrees. It was not an easy spot to assess and included some off roading but the trip was definitely worth the views.
The dress worn by the bride is Rue De Seine and it really fits well in the natural environment with the tassels that lay on the bodice. The bride also wore some pretty details and statement pieces that added to her complete look. I gave her some rather large star earrings, white leather boots, and a beautiful white felt hat which was adorned with dried florals. All of these pieces came together to create a rocker glam vibe to the bride’s whole ensemble. The groom wore a velvet gold jacket that created such a pretty texture in contrast to the rough terrain. We also incorporated a bolo tie which added a nice boho detail to his look.
The ceremony space was simple yet aimed to accentuate the backdrop and not take away from it. We used an aztec style rug with shades of blue to help bring in some cool tones as contrast to the red rocks. The macrame that was placed on the triangle arch was created by a talented artist who specializes in a variety of macrame goods. I love how that hanging piece added a really nice detail to the space. All the furniture was stained with a darker finish to add contrast to the lighter reds and blues of the environment and help them pop.
The flowers were all very inspired by the desert and natural brush that occurs in south Utah. Most of the flowers incorporated were dried which made them resilient to the heat and sun. The floral installation and bouquet added a really beautiful touch and were arranged so beautifully. The cake incorporated dried florals as well and was the perfect size for a small elopement. The vow books had rough edges to give them a more natural feel and incorporated gold inscriptions which tied in well with the groom’s jacket. Archive Rentals provided the cushions and table setting which looked stunning in contrast to the blues of the water. We went for a more burnt orange and neutral pallet for the sweetheart table space. It all came together so perfectly and I absolutely love how they provided details that captured the boho vibe I was looking for.
Our couple Jordan and Hayden have been together for a little over a year and are actually newly engaged! Hayden surprised Jordan by proposing during a photoshoot on a beach in Oregon just a few months ago. They are locals in Utah and have worked on many styled shoots together in the past. They both enjoy listening to disco or oldies music together and are some of the kindest people we have ever worked with. We loved witnessing their free spirits and their pure love of nature and the world around them during the shoot.
Overall this photoshoot was such a blast and I feel so blessed that I got to work alongside so many talented vendors who put in their time and energy to help create this vision I had. Ever since visiting south Utah a few years ago I dreamed of the possibilities of what it would look like to do a styled elopement in one of the most beautiful places on earth and I am so glad we finally got to pull it off!
