Josh + Samantha
This stunning elopement, captured by Ayla Love Photography, utilizes a brilliant color palette to enhance the natural beauty of Tunnel Mountain Reservoir. Josh + Samantha decided to plan a small elopement that represented their love for one another – a ceremony without all of the frills and bows. Karlie Wimble of Mountain Shore Weddings made their dreams come true!
Josh and I fell in love in the depths of The Rocky Mountains in Vail, Colorado. After a chaotic string of life-changing events, including the birth of our beautiful son, Bode, we were back in our homeland, Minnesota, and planning a traditional, large, expensive wedding in our hometown of Brainerd, Minnesota. One afternoon, in the crosshairs of sleep deprivation and anxiety about our quickly approaching nuptials, which had taken a backseat to raising a new baby, we daydreamed about what our dream wedding would look like – it included our closest family and friends, the mountains, and a good cocktail. We got so caught up in our wedding fantasy that we quickly scratched the wedding venue we had already booked in Northern Minnesota and started researching wedding planners in the Banff area as we wanted to get back to the place we fell in love, the mountains, while simultaneously crossing off the top destination on our bucket list. Our wedding planner, Karlie Wimble, made our daydream a reality as 55 of our closest friends and family make the hike (literally) to Tunnel Mountain Reservoir to watch us declare our love and commitment to one another. What followed was the opportunity for our guests to try some of Banff’s most delicious cocktails (The Sawback with chili infused vodka was a personal favorite) and a mouth-watering meal at Park Distillery. We are so humbled by those who made the trip to celebrate our love and so excited to spend the rest of our days adventuring through life together.
