Relaxed Manning Park Summer Wedding

British Columbia Real Wedding

Together they’ve planted almost 1.5 million trees!

They met while tree planting in Northern BC and haven’t stopped adventuring since! She’s a surgeon and he works in IT. They are two of the most considerate and intentional people I’ve ever met! Their day was a reflection of them and those who mean the most to them. She cried when she thanked everyone for being there and said how incredible it is to get to be in the same room and spend an entire day with everyone you love the most in the entire world. It was relaxed and focused entirely on the two of them as a couple and the deep connections they have with those who mean the most to them. It was everything a wedding should be.

They thrifted a lot of their decor from Value Village and Facebook Marketplace, which made for a unique look to their reception!

When you plan a wedding in June, you kind of just expect warm weather. As our family and friends gathered to Manning Park for our wedding weekend, we knew that our June wedding was going to be anything but warm. 15 of us went up Frosty Mountain for a hike the Thursday before and we could only make it halfway due to the snow. On Friday, 50 of us gathered for a hike around Lighting Lake, it rained, it snowed and we froze. Our wedding day was, unfortunately, the same. We woke up to some sun but to no warmer of weather. During our bridal party pictures, it was 4 degrees and snowing and we all couldn’t stop laughing at how ridiculous it was. We all froze during the ceremony and put coats on during the reception. As soon as the reception was done, we encouraged the guests to change into warmer clothes – which for us, was the perfect end to our wedding day. Adam and I met tree planting in Northern Alberta. We fell in love covered in dirt during the day and wearing sweatpants at night. To watch everyone you love most in the world, dancing their faces off in track pants and sweatshirts filled us with so much joy. Even with the ridiculously cold weather, it was the perfect day.
