Ever since Evan and I met, we’ve been inseparable. We fell in love on the slopes and there’s not a day that goes by where we’re not laughing, having fun and searching for our next adventure. We discussed marriage and trusted it’d happen when the time was right. New Year’s Day is special for us, so it was fitting that he proposed then. We woke up that morning, curled in bed reminiscing on the past year and daydreaming of what our life could look like in the next decade. I should’ve seen it coming when he slipped the proposal into our casual conversation, but it took me completely by surprise! A few seconds passed before what was happening actually sank in; but when it did, we both cried. In that moment, the daydreams faded away and I knew I’d be spending the rest of my life with my best friend.
