Max + Katherine
This world-traveling couple, Max + Katherine, planned an intimate wedding at Lynn Britt Cabin in Snowmass, Colorado. The fall weather and changing colors of the Aspens made their day feel warm, cozy and was radiant in color and emotion.
Although they met in Chicago, Katherine and Max feel most at home among the mountains. Early on in their relationship they began traveling all over the world to hike gorgeous landscapes, taste local cuisines and experience new cultures. Over the years they’ve trekked through Norwegian fjords, stood in awe beneath towering Icelandic waterfalls, got terrible sunburns while hiking Mt. Rainier and even got engaged in the Swiss Alps. They love and cherish all those memories, but their hearts feel most at home in Colorado. After Max proposed, they knew right away that there was no better place to show their families and close friends all of their favorite things than in Aspen.
It was late September when guests from all over the country began arriving in Aspen for wedding weekend. The leaves had just started to turn gold and a fall chill had settled in. On the wedding day the groomsmen took Max golfing while the bridal party practiced yoga in the park. The sky was bright blue and dramatic against the mixture of yellow and green leaves. Max and Katherine read hand written letters and exchanged gifts to one another during an intimate first look among the trees. In true Colorado fashion, a late afternoon cool breeze brought thick clouds through the valley. It made for a chilly ceremony! As the bride and groom were finishing their vows, the sun began to peak through the clouds. Their local pastor pronounced them husband and wife and guests threw aspen leaves in the air as they walked down the aisle. The wedding was small enough to seat all fifty six guests cozied up in the slope-side log cabin for dinner. Guests were assigned to tables named after countries the bride and groom have visited. Candles were nestled amongst burgundy, navy, and gold place settings. After filling up on food and drink, they all made their way to a clear top tent strung with twinkle lights for dancing. It turned out to be a perfectly clear fall evening. Hours later everyone gathered on the lawn outside the tent to look up at the starry Milky Way night sky. It. Was. Perfect.
