Mary Pat + Heath
“Mary Pat and Heath met while attending college at the University of Alabama through mutual friends. Mary Pat being from Texas, fell in love with this Alabama boy and decided it was here that her heart belonged. They still currently live in Alabama with their two big rescue dogs, and love to spend time hiking and adventuring together. On one winter trip to Red River, the couple was snowmobiling when Mary Pat rode over to Heath. It was then that he dropped to one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. Mary Pat grew up visiting Taos with her grandfather. He sadly passed last October, but we know he was smiling down from above at this couple and their day that was so full of love. They chose El Monte Sagrado to tie the knot which is near downtown Taos and completely lined with tall cottonwoods and small koi ponds. The cotton blowing in the breeze just added to the whimsy of the day as Mary Pat and Heath said “I do” in the sacred circle in the center of the resort. At the reception, guests found their table by milagro ornaments hung in front of the floral lined tent. Dusty blue candles sat on terracotta holders while bistro lights were strung from the ceiling. In the center of the tent a beautiful floral installation hung full of purple alliums, greenery and ranunculus. Guests sipped champagne and margaritas while a live painter painted the scene during cocktail hour. The night ended with everyone tearing up the dance floor along with the awesome Diamond Empire Band and a yummy ice cream “Heath” bar that the littlest guests just couldn’t get enough of.”
