Chris and I have spent our whole relationship taking on different adventures. Whether it was a road trip across the US, traveling around Copenhagen, or hiking in the beautiful state we live in to discover waterfalls and fields of wildflowers, we love an adventure. For our wedding, our dream was to have all of our closest friends and families come on an adventure with us. We wanted them to experience, even just for a day, what it feels like to be submerged in the Rocky Mountains. We held our wedding at Piney River Ranch, tucked in the Gore Mountain range up a long and windy dirt road outside of Vail with ridged peaks in the background set on a beautiful lake. And to top it off, there was no cell service.
The day was sunny and beautiful when it began. Our first look was very special and intimate. I had waited months and months for Chris to see this incredible dress that I was so excited to wear marrying him. All of the decor and floral came together exactly as we’d envisioned, I had spent months putting together a design vision for our wedding and taking into consideration every detail. The circular arch Chris built for our altarpiece at the end of an authentic Turkish rug was the perfect setting for our ceremony and vows. Our family and friends made the day perfect, even with a little rainstorm during dinner and a hazy evening of smoke from wildfires in the area. Our crew tore up the dance floor for hours and Chris and I will always treasure our first dance with each other, as well as our mom and dad. The day was perfect from start to finish and we were overwhelmed with love and support. It wasn’t easy to get that many people that deep into the mountains, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
