Montana + James
That summer felt endless because it was filled with so much joy and excitement. We spent day after day together. It just felt so peaceful and so right.
A slow burn would be the best way to describe our relationship. Right off the bat we knew that being together felt right but as time went on that feeling of right turned into the feeling of truly being at home and that feeling just grew stronger and stronger.
Our first 3 years felt like the beginning of a Nicholas Sparks book. (Lucky for us it never reached the part of the break up!)
We did so much adventuring, we met each other’s friends and families, we discovered so much about each other and about ourselves. We truly fell in love. Within those 3 years was when we knew this was our forever. And boy did it feel good! We both felt the same thing. The slow burn that just kept getting warmer and stronger.
Soon after our 5 year anniversary we took a trip to Mexico. It was to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday but little did I know we were going to celebrate our engagement as well! It was night two and we planned to watch the sunset on the beach before dinner. There, as the sunset was bright orange over the deep blue ocean, he got on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was beyond perfect!
Our slow burn has become a beautiful, strong, everlasting flame that still grows everyday with every adventure we take together. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to call home.
