Our shoot was a collaboration of talented individuals to create a themed rustic & rich palette using florals, table scape decor, linens, cake, entrees & hors d'oeuvres and a bride & groom. Four 13 Designs implemented a digital scan of an old map of Vail Mountain in the design of the stationery. This was a fantastic touch as it complimented the linens provided by La Tavola and also tied in the historical geography of the venue. The florals were unbelievable and provided a balanced pop of color to the darker rich organic colored plates and flatware. My personal favorite was the use of dimpled copper chargers with the complimented splash of color of fresh red raspberries! I feel this design by Erica and the team at Erica Sarell Weddings created a beautiful balance of organic sophistication using intelligent accents of vintage and rustic nuance.
Another interesting element was our bride & groom, Amy & Sharif, are actually married so we had real and honest chemistry for the shoot. We also learned that Amy & Sharif had been married at a courthouse without the luxuries of a fancy wedding ceremony. Thus an idea was born. As a surprise we arranged to have an officiant perform an actual vow renewal ceremony for them. Their surprise along with this sweet gesture by our officiant, Tim Kelly, brought some added context to our styled shoot, something I personally value!
