The overall theme of the shoot was a nautical-inspired elopement, as the resort specializes in luxury elopement and destination clients, with a marina on site and beach access. I wanted the colours to represent oceanic colours, with a variety of deep blue/pale blues and copper/rust colours. Ocean and sailing references were intermixed with sophisticated elements to create an upscale nautical feel. The jewellery was chosen for its representation of driftwood and natural elements, with pearl accents on the earrings to tie the ocean theme in. These pearl accents were also through the detailing on the dress as well as the hairpiece. The shoot took place both at the resort and at their on-site marina and beach. We wanted the entire shoot to embody a sophisticated and wild feel, much like sailing/ocean travel. We also intermixed mussel shells sourced locally, as well as driftwood accents and florals with blue accents and sealife inspired greenery.
