Montana Engagement

How we met:

Davin and I’s story isn’t romantic, or fluffy, but it’s our story, and for that reason I love it. For a long time, Davin was “the guy at the gym” that I wished someday would notice me, or maybe, just maybe, even talk to me. With the help of a mutual friend that someday finally happened. I remember sitting on a bench at the gym and hearing a voice from behind, I turned around and it was him. What started with small talk ended with him asking me out for a drink at a sushi restaurant, which became our favorite. We have basically been inseparable since.

Engagement story:

We have always tried to make a point of going out for a Friday date night. On January 11, 2019, we went to a quaint restaurant at the recommendation of a friend. We were seated in a corner by the fireplace next to a couple and an elderly gentleman. We finished our meal and I looked at Davin sarcastically and said, “tonight sure would have been the perfect night for that ring.” (The anniversary of our first date had been January 7th) He looked at me, and his eyes started to tear up. He asked me to put my hand under the table. He slipped the ring on my finger and asked me to marry him. The older gentleman in the corner began to clap and cheer as someone had just won the Super Bowl. He told us that he had recently lost his wife of 70+ years and nothing makes him happier than to see “young love.” That night we knew that we had found our forever best friend, our safe haven, the person we were meant to spend the rest of our lives.
