Nic + Jessie

Love Story

“We met in college at Iowa State University! Nic is a little bit older than me (7 years) because he originally went to hair school. I guess that didn’t work out… because lucky for him he went back to college and met me! (Lucky for me too, of course, but it would have been kind of badass to have a fiance who could style my hair…) anyways, Nic is now a great car salesman and I am a substitute teacher and waitress, finishing up my masters degree so that I can have my own classroom and teach English to crazy middle schoolers! The proposal was the proposal of my dreams… I am a crazy, weird, Stephen King obsessed reader… Nic is probably annoyed that he always has to share my attention with a book. But Nic took me to The Stanley Hotel (where King got the idea for The Shining) and proposed to me there!! My creepiest dream turned into a beautiful romance. We love to Walk our dog Jaco and sit outside on our patio drinking beer. We love to watch MLB baseball and UFC. Anything food and beer-wise, we are there for it.”

The Elopement

“Nic and Jessie rented out a sweet airbnb and invited the people who loved them the most (their immediate families) to join them for a Colorado experience. In the most typical Colorado Summer Weather Fashion, some rain rolled through periodically as we moved through their day. They had a ceremony on the deck of the AirBnB with private music by John Brewster which added such a lovely intimate aspect to their small ceremony. After their ceremony, we ventured around Breck for photos so Nic & Jessie could get some alone time on the best day ever. During photos, it started to rain a little, but Nic and Jessie embraced it. They didn’t let a little weather keep them from being truly present or taking away from the happiness of the moment. When I asked if they’d like to get umbrellas or back into the car, they assured me they were fine and the rain didn’t bother them! It made for gorgeous photos. While we were doing photos, At Your Breck and Call was preparing the most amazing meal back in the AirBnB kitchen for Jessie & Nic and their guests. Having a private chef prepare meals right at the gathering spot elevates any elopement or intimate ceremony to a true intimate beautiful experience. They shared laughter & tears as their family gave speeches and loved on them the entire day. Weddings don’t have to be complicated to be everything you want.”
