Modern and Vibrant Vow Renewal

New Mexico Styled Shoot

The Couple

Carmen + Michael

The Inspiration

“Carmen and Michael decided to exchange vows after being married a few years to celebrate their love and begin a new chapter in their life as the get ready to move across the country. We chose El Rey court so they’ll be able to take a little New Mexico style and charm with them in these photos after they move. For me, inspiration for my work comes from all over, books, movies, flipping through magazines, travel, and just my surroundings in general. For this shoot I wanted to mix my love of mid century modern design and southwest vibes. El Rey Court was the perfect location to play up this mid century southwest vibey day. I also wanted to get out of my comfort zone and add in pops of bright color. I’m a lover of neutrals and earth tones so throwing in the bright yellows, purples, and oranges was such a fun visual treat and challenge. From the bright mix of colorful florals, to the vibrate stationery, a sense of playful whimsy was brought in just in time for spring and summer. I also wanted to play with symmetry and bring in inspo from one of my favorite film makers Wes Anderson. I wanted to instill balance between modern simplicity and a little off beat eccentricity”
