Many couples today are opting for mini-moons; typically a 3-4 day vacation immediately following the wedding — but, if you’re feeling overwhelmed during the planning process there’s no one stopping you from taking one before your big day!
Why take a mini-moon instead of a honeymoon? Whether it’s because you’re waiting to save up for the honeymoon of your dreams, or your lifestyle or schedule just doesn’t allow for you take off the necessary time to enjoy a week or two away then a mini-moon may be just for you!
A few reasons we think a mini-moon is a good idea:
Cheaper; a long weekend away will be much kinder on your bank account — opt to splurge on a spa day or a nice dinner out.
Less Vacation; sometimes weddings force us to use more vacation time at work than we have from engagement parties, bachelor/bachelorette trips, and more — if you don’t have the vacation to spare, a mini-moon is a great option.
No Travel Fatigue; choosing a destination within driving distance or a quick flight will allow you to begin relaxing immediately with little to no travel fatigue…no one enjoys jet lag!
Less Planning; wedding planning is a lot to take on and often planning an extended and adventurous honeymoon abroad is just as exhausting — plan a mini-moon to getaway while avoiding the headache of planning the real deal. Consider taking the honeymoon of your dreams for your 1st Anniversary.
