Donaye + April
Donaye reached out to me a while ago explaining that he and his girlfriend were coming from Washington to Big Fork and he was planning on popping the question after they went dog sledding! I am such a sucker for surprise proposals and this one sounded like it was straight out of a storybook. Donaye put so much thought and effort into making this the most perfect, memorable day for April. He is seriously so sweet! He made sure that she had her hair, lashes, and nails done, booked the most adorable Airbnb that has the cutest sauna, and picked an absolutely stunning ring.
Montana did try to throw a wrench in the works with a pretty nasty blizzard that was expected to dump 18” of snow. Thankfully it let up just enough for the day’s activities to continue. When I arrived at the location I was blown away at how adorable the Airbnb was. I almost died when I saw the cutest little wooden sauna. It was a picture perfect winter wonderland with a fresh layer of snow covering everything and giant snowflakes falling from the sky– so phenomenal!
When the dog sled team returned from their adventure, Donaye and April took a walk into the forest nearby. I followed behind and Donaye played April a song on his phone and had a very sweet speech prepared before getting down on one knee and asking her, “Will you marry me?” Of course she said yes! I was pretty much balling like a baby. She had no idea– a successful surprise. We spent the next hour or so capturing pictures with the sweetest dogs.
