British Columbia Styled Shoot
The Inspiration
“When planning this shoot our idea was to make it everything Fall brings but still keep it Bright and airy. I sat, new to the wedding world and wondering why does fall need to be dark and moody for design? Can we change this? The goal was to keep all aspects of Fall in BC, Fresh picked apples, plump grown pumpkins, delicious homemade pies, green vineyard keep the spooky fog in which we endure from our BC weather. Our Vision for “Fall in Love” was meant to inspire more Brides with a passion who favour towards the bright and airy look that to show that it can also be done in the Fall season. We executed the fog with using dry ice which created all the feels for a bright, elegant and casual wedding. The design just spiraled from there. Katie of K. Thompson’s photography & the beautiful space at Oak & Vine Estate complimented our styled shoot beautifully with the bright and airy feel. Farm grown pumpkins, freshly snipped branches from an apple tree for the head table and flowers all from Makohafarm really created the vibe we were after. We continued to source all local, Hay from parry bay sheep farm. And a fresh baked pie from the Dogwood. We used a palette of coloured taper candles in various heightened brass holders to create contrast and wonder. The hair styled by Sarah Krook, makeup by Trish and custom made elegant dress from Lily Kennedy custom gowns was the whip cream on top of this Pie. We had West coast country Creative do our signage and we had Nicole From Mangoes Boutique dress David in slick & casual fall style. After all this was during the pandemic and supporting local is a huge importance for us all involved and continues to be. We really wanted to help couples source local as well and inspire them for their own wedding day.”
