Colorado Engagement Session

I’m not sure Chelsey notices, but Colin looks at her with such tenderness and care. They repeatedly told me before the engagement session how awkward they were in front of the camera, which was far from the truth. Chelsey + Colin’s love is the most effortless kind. They make each other belly laugh and always want to feel each other’s touch. It truly is the kind of love people dream about.

Chelsey reached out to me about wanting to travel to Colorado (from their cornfields in Iowa) to do their engagement photos, and I was beyond thrilled! Chelsey + Colin have never even seen mountains before, so I wanted to make sure their time here in Colorado met every expectation. We decided on Lost Gulch Lookout, and it was surprisingly calm for a Saturday evening. I wish I would’ve captured their faces when we first walked out on the ledge of the rocks, overlooking the vast mountain range. Chelsey said to me she felt like her stomach dropped, similar to riding a rollercoaster, with the overwhelming beauty she was witnessing. It made me realize how often we take for granted the beautiful landscape that we get to see every single day living in Colorado. The magnificence of their love only intensified the beautiful backdrop of these photos.

I am so honored that they chose me to capture their engagement photos in a place they’ll always hold so dear to their hearts. I don’t think any of us will forget this day.
