In a week that had plenty of rain and scattered flurries, we lucked out on having beautiful sunshine. The styled shoot was located at the Loft at Earls in Yaletown, in their private event space. It’s a space perfect for the couple looking for something classic with a touch of the “cool factor”. Their space highlights incredible wood architecture with plenty of wood beams, which is then complemented by tasteful sparkling chandeliers.
My aesthetic itself isn’t overly opulent; you could say I’m more of the practical wedding planner. I like to keep the decor simple, yet choose elements that together pack a punch. In this shoot specifically, I wanted to blend this idea of hard and soft. The concrete decor and jewelry is softened by the fabrics and textures, while also being balanced by the wood and brick.
As cliche as it may sound, I truly believe that simpler can be just as beautiful. If you choose a few select items that complement the space well, you can still create a “wow” experience for both you and your guests.
