Claire + Jordan
Jordan and I met in the 9th grade. Both in our awkward stages and he sat directly behind me. I don’t think we said a word to each other the entire year, but our friend groups soon combined and we became best friends all through high school. He kissed me in a swimming pool during the summer, I was his first kiss. We still remained friends up until senior year, but it all changed when he asked me to be his valentine and took me to prom on my birthday. We are the epitome of best friends turned lovers.
We did long distance for a total time of about a year and a half until he had enough and came to live in Hawaii where I was attending university so he could be near me. We lived the island life to the fullest! It was there that I could picture a future with him. Now if we ever get in a squabble about who loves the other more he simply says, “I crossed the Pacific for you,” and that usually ends the conversation.
Jordan got down on one knee at the top of our favorite place in the mountains of Utah, I shed a tear and said yes. I waited up until the day of our wedding to show him my dress and he actually fainted during the ceremony! We got married in November of 2018, road trip honeymooned to St. George, then California. Since then, we’ve been able to see the world together visiting Italy, Iceland, living in Hawaii together, seeing the states, and we don’t plan on stopping!
Having a partner makes every aspect of my life seem better, brighter, and more fulfilling. I’m filled with love when thinking of the time we had on our own to focus on ourselves, which ultimately led us to each other. I love my high school sweetheart!
