Ben and I had been dating for about a year before we got engaged. I got to know his brother and sister-in-law before ever meeting him and they were sure that Ben and I would be perfect together. They had told me about him, but I didn’t know much so it was basically a blind date… and the rest is history! He is the kindest man you will ever meet and I quickly knew that I had found my forever. We had planned a summer trip to Colorado together to visit family and little did I know, Ben had already been preparing and planning a proposal. I had hoped that he would propose while we were there, but he kept throwing me off. He wasn’t acting different or nervous at all and each day that went by nothing seemed out of the ordinary. He had planned one more thing for us to do on our last night in Colorado. We took a drive to Echo Lake to check it out and take a walk on the trails around the lake. As we were walking, he stopped us at a beautiful spot and started saying the sweetest things. He said he wanted to get a picture of me so I walked over to the photo spot and as I turned around he was on one knee! Our feelings in that moment were indescribable. He asked me to marry him I said “YES!” about a million times I think. We were both emotional, overjoyed, and SO beyond excited! It was the best day and one of our most favorite memories.
When the time came for engagement photos, I knew Flathead Lake, Montana would be the perfect place. My family and I would spend every summer on Flathead so it has a really special place in my heart and I couldn’t wait to share it with Ben. I am so glad Stella Kelsie Photography captured these photos of that precious time in our lives. We will cherish them forever!
